B. L. Robinson provides DEM development for use in watershed analysis and emergency management response. Our DEM data can be created from LIDAR data and traditional field surveying techniques. With the use of our GIS data we can query watersheds, soil types, ownership, critical infrastructure all within the defined flood ways path and existing flood plains to develop accurate large-scale drainage maps for analysis and planning.

BLR's extensive use of precision centimeter accuracy GPS systems provides accurate data to enhance existing private and governmental GIS systems. Our extensive use of CAD generated drawings and our own GIS Database allows us the ability to share this information with other GIS clients. Since precision data collection has been the main stay of our business, we have further invested resources in the development of our own GIS Database and equipment in order to better serve our clients with customizable data fields and the ability to adapt to any existing system.

BLR specializes in erosion and sedimentation control design, regulatory compliance and permitting in the area of storm water discharges. Our staff has training in the CPESC and CPSWQ programs and therefore is up to date in the latest methods of erosion control practice. Our designs are practical, cost effective and creative. With the use of our GIS data we can query watersheds, soil types and datum elevations within flood ways and flood plains to develop accurate large-scale drainage maps.

BLR's staff recognizes the value low impact development and utilizes storm water management techniques that offer minimal disturbance of existing bio-habitats and natural features. Our services can be teamed with other engineering and wetland consultants to compliment their existing staff. Our expertise in designing complex hydraulic flood controls, water quality features and erosion control plans allow us to provide proven solutions to the most difficult drainage problems.

BLR has expanded its services into the field of GIS data applications. We have implemented ESRI software and trained staff to complement our existing AutoCAD mapping environment. As engineers and surveyors, we understand the complexity of assembling reliable base maps. Our ability to manipulate data within both software environments allows us to collaborate with agencies and other users. Our in-house database covering the Great Lakes Watershed and Ohio allows us to produce personal geo-databases and maps to end users in an efficient manner. Clients can also benefit from data enhancements utilizing our centimeter accuracy GPS. We currently have complied complete data layers for Ohio.
